![]() Some excellent free open-source out there as discussed in the Summer 2015 C'T Digital Photography (excellent very tech magazine). I am a JPEG followed by post guy but can and do on occasion use RAW. ![]() same rubber stamp reply!! Next will be a phone call. so are under three email addresses, hence a problem obtaining a recent deal to complete my package 50% off!! The CS rep read what he thought rather than what was written. My Topaz license were obtained from year one. I think customer service at many companies is staffed by newbies and not by those with knowledge beyond simplicity. This mornings message said my question was of a complex nature and was being passed to a higher level. Then I sent them an inquiry asking why they have not responded to the top three complaints of the Corel User to User AS forum and if they have asked Topaz support to assist, saying that there is a universe of users that would be a source of profit. First they told me gobbledygook, next I was told how to install Topaz in X-7 which I know, then finally another message saying that not supported. I finally received a reply from that made sense. Indeed a self imposed shot in there foot, not correcting what would be probably small changes. PSP-X7 is excellent, but has a few failings. There was a time when Corel products were superior to Office. ¤cies=usd&gclid=CjwKEAjw5pKtBRCqpfPK5qXatWYSJABi5kTxzJmk6fqyGvd_4EOx1vLMnSyT6PSVyblNnw9ZzAwONBoCHIXw_wcBĮlliott, thank you for your input. Very well done LR has menus in menus in menus vs AS which is more straight line. Look at the last part first and then start at the beginning using the slider to get thru the yap yap casual chat of these two tech guys. So now I am relying on UHH people to guide my hand. I can deal with insertion into program file or even Regedit but simply tell me what to do step 1, 2, 3. but how and where do I put it? Please, give me an reference or an ABC how to. OK, yes Topaz Fusion Yes, Corel Tech Guy I know that. (eg: I am not a tech person, went to school on the short bus, dropped out at 16, know nothing of the issues, but here is my expert opinion. I have the feeling that these companies give chances to inmates of mental institutions or congressmen hard to tell the difference to answer tech questions. I submitted a question to Corel and received a ∼orel Cryptic reply. OK, AS installed question now is how do I add Topaz to Aftershot Pro 2? But, if you do, it’s one simple click to send your processed RAW image over to Adobe Photoshop for final tweaking.Aftershot 2 Pro has many basic workflow advantages over Lightroom price tho nice was not the issue. Between the plug-ins and presets-and a long list of image editing tools, metadata and sort/search functions-you may find little reason to leave AfterShot Pro for other applications. ![]() You’ll find black and white, sepia, landscape and wedding packs, among others. Along the same line, image presets are also built-in and can be downloaded (free and paid) from within the app. In addition to an open plug-in SDK, AfterShot Pro 3 has a plug-in manager with options to download free (and paid) plug-ins. While I haven’t put AfterShot Pro 3’s new Highlight Recovery algorithm through its paces yet, initial tests indicate that this feature shows definite promise in bringing back details in clipped highlights. There’s a new blemish removal tool that works quite efficiently, too. A new watermarking feature offers a wide range of options-not only can you create presets and layer the watermark, but you can also batch and stack them, alter the angle and more. In addition, there’s a Lens Correction Development kit that allows you to create custom lens correction profiles for, say, older lenses for which there’s currently no profile. Corel claims it’s up to four times faster than Lightroom and a quick run through supports the fact that this AfterShot Pro version is very responsive (although I didn’t perform any specific performance comparisons vs. While that feature may be key for some photographers, there’s much more to the new version of this low profile (as in, it doesn’t take up much space on your hard drive) software. Of course, it will take the team a little while to develop the RAW support once a new camera is announced, but this system will allow Corel to add new camera models once they’re available. The full version costs $80 (upgrades are available) and, thanks to a new modular and dynamic system, Corel promises frequent RAW support updates for new cameras. Part photo editor, part RAW conversion tool, Corel’s AfterShot Pro 3 offers some new and improved features that will especially appeal to photographers who want/need up to date RAW support for a minor financial investment.
